For DMs, GMs & West Marches organizers
Scheduling kills more campaigns than any dragon.
Recurring session slots, quorum rules (“we play if 4+ say yes”), attendance memory and Discord pings — instead of a new When2Meet link and a sinking feeling every single week.
Sound familiar?
“Scheduling issues have slowly been killing our party and nobody knows what to do.”— r/DMAcademy
“The last three groups I had fall apart “due to scheduling.””— r/DMAcademy
“Is there some sort of Discord bot or persistent calendar? I’m managing a West Marches server on spreadsheets.”— r/DMAcademy
Polls schedule one session and forget. Nothing tracks commitment over a campaign: who actually shows, whether tonight fires, which table has room. A survey of 200+ DMs found scheduling limits roughly 1 in 5 campaigns.
What Session Zero does
Recurring slots, real timezones
“Alternate Thursdays, 7pm Eastern” — shown correctly to the player in Lisbon. Set once for the whole campaign.
Quorum rules
Session auto-confirms when enough players RSVP yes — and auto-cancels with notice when it can’t. No more 6pm group-chat archaeology.
Attendance memory
Streaks, no-shows and reliability per player, visible to the GM. The chronic canceller becomes a data point, not a fight.
Discord-native pings
RSVP nudges and confirmations land in your campaign’s channel via webhook. Players never leave Discord to answer.
West Marches mode
Multiple tables, player-proposed sessions, per-table caps and signups — the spreadsheet server, retired.
Honest pricing, decided up front
Waitlist members can reserve founder pricing: $3/mo — locked in for as long as you stay subscribed. That's $2/mo off, forever, for backing this before it exists.
No card required to reserve. No per-seat surprises later. If Session Zero doesn't launch, you've spent nothing and you'll get a straight answer about why.
You're on the list. One more thing —
Want to reserve founder pricing ($3/mo instead of $5/mo, locked for life)? It costs nothing now and just tells me you'd genuinely pay — which decides what gets built first.
You're in. Thank you.
I'll only email you with real progress or a launch date. If you have opinions about what Session Zero must get right, reply to the confirmation — I read everything.
Who's building this?
I'm Aaron — a solo developer. I found thread after thread of people describing this exact problem, and I'd rather prove demand honestly (this page) than build in a vacuum. Toolshed Software's whole model: small tools, flat prices, no per-seat games, no venture pressure to raise prices on you later.
Fair questions
- Is this a real product?
- It's in active development. This waitlist decides what ships first — enough interest and Session Zero gets finished and launched; not enough and I'll email you an honest "it's not happening" instead of pretending. Your signup is the vote.
- What will it cost at launch?
- $5 per month for GMs — free for players, forever — the price is on this page because hiding pricing until launch is how you end up with HoneyBook math. Founder reservations keep $3/mo for life.
- What happens to my email?
- It sits in a database with a timestamp and where you came from. You'll get at most a handful of progress emails and one launch email. No sharing, no selling, one-click unsubscribe.
